Team 1572 In 2006, the Robotics team opened up it's doors to all four schools, bringing together new ideas along with new ways of thinking.

Established in 2003 by a group of students from Construction Tech Academy who wanted to inspire other students to get involved with science and technology. In this way, all four schools were able to unite and become the strong team they are today.

Absolutely fantastic turnout at the night time Halloween spooky party at Jones Elementary! Hundreds of people showed up and many kids had the chance to drive our robot and we're fairly sure they had a blast. Also, let's not forget our awesome team member volunteers that helped out with the carnival games and student safety. Go Hammer Heads!

Had a spooktastic blast at Cubberley Elementary, home of the Junior Hammer Heads, celebrating their annual Halloween party.

Plenty of kids had fun driving our Scorpion-themed robot named Scorpio!

Today marks the first week after Mr. Oliver's departure of the Junior Hammer Heads as our programming coach/wizard. He has inspired many students during his time here to pursue STEM, and that's what we are all about as Hammer Heads.

Despite this, the elementary schoolers are doing fantastic as we push forward in the season. We have 3 robots to play with and plenty of Junior Hammer Heads that want to build, program, and learn.

We've got a competition coming up in a few weeks, and if anyone would like to come on by and support robotics... come on by!

# FIRST Robotics

Just kicked off the Cubberley Elementary school robotics team game season by officially splitting into teams. We have all started planning project, programming, and build aspects of this year's game. Junior Hammer Heads have got quite a year ahead!

Week 2 @ The Hammer Heads:

There's more people than I've ever seen at robotics at Kearny... about 35 students! We've kicked off two off season robot projects being T-shirt cannon bot and Farm bot. Students are preparing for and building each! We've also started to teach robot CAD design (it's far more meticulous than school CAD).

Many fun weeks ahead!

Tremendous week for the Hammer Heads @ Kearny High School! Started meetings after school and started "banging away" at all sorts of different tasks.
Recap:
- Drove the robot around (of course!)
- Got our club official
- Initiated efforts (and plenty of paperwork) toward several fundraisers
- Voted team leadership
- Proceeding to search for sponsorships and grants from local and large businesses
- Introduced to this year's FRC game, FIRST Power Up!

Also, let's not forget about our Jr. Hammer Heads (3-5 grade) at Cubberley Elementary which had their second week of training for the (FLL) First Lego League competition, mentored by dedicated volunteers including Hammer Head students. Not only that, but this year we introduce the Mini Hammer Heads (K-2 grade) (name unofficial) who are competing in Junior FLL!
With these two elementary school teams we are always looking for volunteers, so if anyone is interested please ask questions below.

All in all, we have a busy and prosperous year ahead of us!
