KIPP Adelante

KIPP Adelante KIPP Adelante is a tuition-free, college preparatory school for 5-8th grade students. KIPP Adelante has been teaching 5-8 grade students since 2003.

Over the last few years, we have strengthened the existing school and are creating the conditions whereby KIPP can expand in San Diego to meet the needs of families: ensuring that every family has access to a high quality education for their child. Our kids at Adelante are hard-working, enthusiastic, resilient and focused; they are also mostly low-income, learners of English, new Americans and often performing below grade level when they arrive at our door. Through restorative practices, strong relationships among students and teachers, data driven instruction, and personalized, student-centered learning, we are supporting our students in realizing their potential. We know KIPPsters are uniquely positioned to address some of the ongoing challenges that plague our cities and lead us in to the future.

Coffee with Admin is THIS WEDNESDAY!
KIPP Adelante Families, this is a friendly reminder that Coffee with Admin is coming up on September 30!
Join us from 8:30–9:30 AM at KIPP Adelante for a morning of connection, conversation, and learning with our admin team.
We’ll be discussing important topics, including Title I and Su***de Prevention, along with helpful resources and ways we can continue supporting our students and families.

Last Wednesday, our KAPA community showed UP! 🙌 We had an amazing turnout and loved welcoming our families onto campus, connecting with teachers, and sharing all the great things happening at KAPA. 🫶

PICTURE DAY IS COMING SOON!
Hello, KIPP Adelante Families!
Picture Day is next Friday, October 2, 2026! All students will have their photo taken, so please make sure your student comes to school in FULL UNIFORM.
Student photos are important because they are used for:
School IDs — helpful for identification and emergencies
MTS Student Passes — proof of student status to ride MTS transit for free

Photo Packages
Families may prepay for a photo package online or purchase a package using the paper order form that students will receive on Monday, September 28.
If purchasing with the paper form, students must bring the completed form and payment directly to the photographer on Picture Day.

Hola, familias de KIPP Adelante:
El Día de Fotos será el próximo viernes, 2 de octubre de 2026. A todos los estudiantes se les tomará una fotografía, así que por favor asegúrese de que su estudiante venga a la escuela con el UNIFORME COMPLETO.
Las fotografías de los estudiantes son importantes porque se utilizan para:
Identificaciones escolares — útiles para la identificación y en caso de emergencias.
Pases de estudiante de MTS — comprobante de que el estudiante está inscrito en la escuela para poder viajar gratis en el transporte público de MTS.

PAQUETES DE FOTOS
Las familias pueden pagar por adelantado su paquete de fotos en línea o comprar un paquete utilizando el formulario de pedido en papel que los estudiantes recibirán el lunes 28 de septiembre.
Si compra el paquete utilizando el formulario en papel, los estudiantes deberán entregar el formulario completo y el pago directamente al fotógrafo el Día de Fotos.

Every Thursday is Tango Thursday at the gate! We’ll play music from Hispanic artists during morning arrival. Students who dance their way through the gate will earn a raffle ticket. Friday raffle drawings begin next week! We can’t wait to see those moves, KAPA Rays!
