We did it! We managed to blow out our Imagine Campaign goal and set records in both participation and total dollars raised. As a result, our incredible PE teachers have organized a series of action-packed activities for classes to engage in as a celebration and EVERYONE GETS TO PARTICIPATE. An opportunity of this magnitude cannot be accomplished by our three PE teachers, incredible though they might be. We need your help!
Please look over the SignUpGenius and find a time when you can come, support, and enjoy your kids wacky adventures. The schedule of events is linked in the SignUpGenius description.
We can't wait to see you in the park for fun, games, and celebration of our incredible Grant community!

We did it! This year’s Imagine Campaign is a wrap – and we’re thrilled to announce we raised more than $142,000 to fund STEAM programming at Grant TK8! This year’s Campaign was our fastest and most successful ever with 72% of students across all grades participating and six elementary classrooms hitting 100% participation. Thanks to the overwhelming participation across the entire school AND our ability to exceed our fundraising goal, we are happy to announce that ALL classrooms will join in on the Imagine Campaign Field Day! Classroom participation leaders in both elementary and middle school will be receiving special recognition to acknowledge their hard work and motivation. Stay tuned for more details about the Field Day!

Haven't gotten your donation in yet? Don't worry, we will still accept it and put it to great use serving the needs of our school. Can't wait to see you all in the park for field day!

There’s still time to help us reach our goals! Donate today! It’s not too late. We would love to have every class join us for the field day! Any amount is welcome, just go to to donate today.

Middle schoolers deserve a day of fun, silly games, too! Have you donated to the Imagine Campaign yet?
The middle school threshold for a field day is ONLY 50%! (This is because of middle school class size).
If not, yours might be the donation your kid's class needs to make it over the 50% mark! Donating is easy, just follow the link in bio and make your one-time or recurring payment.

WE LOVE OUR GRANT TK-8 PARENTS! You’re stepping up in a major way to help fund STEAM enrichment programming at Grant TK8 through our annual Imagine Campaign – but we still need more help to get to our $120,000 goal! Give now to keep STEAM at Grant and help your child’s class reach their classroom participation goal! Go to and donate today!

DID YOU KNOW? All STEAM science and art enrichment at Grant TK8 is funded by the Imagine Campaign, the main fundraising drive of the nonprofit Grant School Community Foundation . WE NEED YOUR HELP TO RAISE $120,000 to cover the costs of Grant’s in-house, full-time Science and Art Enrichment programs, as well as supplies needed to keep other STEAM programming robust and engaging at Grant. Give now to keep STEAM at Grant and help your child’s class reach their classroom participation goal… entry into our inaugural Field Day event!

Our flagship fundraising drive, the Imagine Campaign, runs from October 1- 20 and aims to raise at least $120,000 to cover the costs of Grant’s Science and Art Coordinators and related STEAM programming. Again, these costs are not covered by the school district. Without parent donations, these critical programs – including elementary and middle school art, the Gecko Garden, hands-on experiences to complement science curriculum, and middle school engineering – will cease to exist at Grant.

First day of school moved to Tuesday across all SDUSD schools. Not sure about emergency care options for parents who still have to work. If you know if anything, please share in the comments for others who might need help.

The Grant PTA invites your family to attend the Back-to-School Social on Sunday, August 20, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Pioneer Park in Mission Hills.

Join our Grant community and school faculty as we welcome a new school year. Reconnect with school friends and help welcome new Grant families from all grades. This is a great opportunity to get information for the start of the school year, learn about clubs and activities, and sign up for the PTA and volunteer opportunities.

The PTA will be hosting an ice cream truck for all Grant students and siblings (while supplies last). We encourage you to bring a picnic blanket and/or chairs and your favorite snacks to enjoy our time together at the park.
While there will be an opportunity to meet Principal Cain, students, and other parents, teachers normally do not attend this event.

in the Art Walk program, this year we celebrated our Great Artists program and it’s creative designer: Jennifer Whitney. Jennifer (Jenny) created the program to inspire an appreciation of art and artists that has benefitted hundreds of young people. Today, the first group of great artists to experience the program in its entirety promoted to high school. To honor Jenny, Myra Siddiqi designed and painted this beautiful still life with flowers styled after many of the artists studied in the program. Thank you, Myra, for creating such a lasting testament to the essence of the Great Artists program and thank you, Jenny, for dreaming, designing, and shepherding this program for years. We are lucky to know you both and look forward to seeing how Grant’s great artists continue to blossom.

The measure of a democracy is the capacity for creativity that exists within its populous. Imaginative problem solvers are essential for dreaming the future we cannot live without even as we struggle to dismantle the reality we cannot live within.
Our young people are so fortunate to grow up in a community where their creativity and self expression are fostered and celebrated. Congratulations to all of the artists, educators, business leaders, and community members who contributed to the 2023 . We came together to create a unique opportunity for our community and look forward to making this better year over year.
