The Poway Unified School district has decided to shut down, and to help assist the effort to keep everybody safe from the spread of the Coronavirus, we have decided to do so as well. For three weeks effective Monday, March 16 through Friday, April 3. Our number one priority at All-Star is the safety and health of our students and staff.
We did not come to this decision lightly, but due to the rising concerns from families and the community, we have decided as a team for precaution, to cancel our upcoming Full-Day Camps, Noetic Math Competition and our Summer Open House Event in April. We will monitor and assess the situation before we reschedule our Open House and Math Contest. We plan, along with the PUSD, to restart school Monday, April 6, unless conditions call for an extension. This decision to follow suit was not easy, but we thank you, families, for your support, patience, and understanding during this time. We will keep you updated upon any further news or updates.

Erosion Prevention Project: The mayor was asking if our ‘student scientists’ could come up with some erosion prevention devices or ideas that will combat our erosion problem for the Del Mar beaches. Our scientist have come up with some very creative solutions!

WORDLY-WISE English class gives 2nd-5th grade students an opportunity to work on their language art skills through a new online program we implemented this year called Wordly Wise i3000. Wordly Wise i3000™ provides direct academic vocabulary instruction to develop the critical link between vocabulary and reading comprehension. The robust activities, social sharing, and interaction, and differentiated instruction within our digital application provide engagement and support to meet the needs of today’s varying student population. All-Star Academy's English Classroom will integrate this online program with our current syllabus to enhance students' application in vocabulary. Once students register, they may log-in at any time. Students, teachers, and parent will have the capability of tracking their students progress at their convenience. This program is ONLY for students registered at All-Star Academy on Thursdays or Fridays. We will provide Chromebooks during class for those who do not have access to their own device. For a one time nominal fee of $17 they will learn the ability to develop the critical link between vocabulary and reading comprehension at their own pace.
