Since San Diego Unified students have non-instructional days on Monday and Tuesday next week, we will be open from 9am to 5pm, and we will be ready with some fun activities to enjoy a beautiful day ☀️

🍂Hello, September! 🍂 A new month is upon us, and we are back in full swing as students have settled into their new classes this school year. We are excited to continue offering S.T.E.A.M. classes and Academic Enrichment/Tutoring this school year. We have some wonderful activities planned that will lead us to the end of 2025. Stop by and check out what we have going on! 😊

Check out these designer GENES 🧬 😂 we had the sweetest time learning about DNA and making our own candy models with CREATE at UC San Diego 🍬 we are so excited to be back with our afterschool programming after a jam packed summer of fun 🤩 and we love us some S.T.E.A.M. Monday!

PRO-TIP: indulge your inner child and spend some time finger painting for a colorful and delightful afternoon 🌈🎨🖐️

Last week we had the opportunity to visit the beautiful Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch to learn about floral cultivation, seeding, irrigation, and agriculture 🧑‍🌾 💐 with spring underway it was the perfect time for a visit to see the incredible blooms and take in some fresh air 🌬️☀️

We loved taking in the colorful sights and felt inspired to continue working hard at the La Maestra Garden of Life 🌱 Happy 💚🌎

A wonderful way to start the week is by reflecting on the special moments from the week before ☺️ we would like to give a special shoutout to this wonderful group of students from the University of Utah’s Alternative Breaks - Bennion Center - University of Utah program 🙌

This group spent two wonderful afternoons with us and we were honored to teach them about the work we do at Generations and about healing through art and restorative practices. Thank you for sharing your time, your hearts, and your stories with us… 💚
