During the school year, tens of thousands of children in San Diego County depend on free and reduced-price meals each day. When school ends for the summer, many children are at risk of hunger.

Summer meal sites are located in communities that are considered high need areas. All children and teens are welcome to come and enjoy free meals.

Did you know there are only 35 days until the start of the Paris Summer Olympics? If you have a kid that's obsessed with sports—or numbers!—we have two book lists you may want to check out on our https://bookshop.org/shop/FranklinSDPTA storefront (20% of all books sold help fund our PTA).

First is Books About Sports! Learn everything about Alex Morgan, Simone Biles, and awesome Olympic sports like skateboarding and fencing. Second is Books about Math! There are no sports records without numbers, and these books help make math relevant and fun for all ages.

Not in a position to buy books this summer? No worries! You can find many of these same book titles available to borrow from the San Diego Public Library for free! Visit www.sandiego.gov/public-library to learn more.

Hey Franklin Fourth Graders, are you ready to get outside this summer? The National Park Service provides all fourth graders free passes to over 2000 parks and historic sites. Visit https://everykidoutdoors.gov to learn more.
