Project Description: Looking for a way to make friends during this pandemic? Feeling socially isolated? Allies for Education (AFE) is here for you! Social distancing has been tough on all of us. We want to help you thrive socially! Allies for Education (AFE) presents the F.U.N. (Friends Unite Network) Project. We want to help you make friends and connect with others who have similar interests. We will get through these trying times together! All you have to do is fill out the form below and we will connect you with a fun group of people. Groups meet twice a month to have FUN! Come be friends with us! We’re FUN!

CODING FOR TEACHERS

Registration for free CSET Test Prep classes are now open!

Courses offered are: Algebra, Geometry (tentative), Physics, Foundational Science, Math and Science Multiple Subjects.

The California Center on Teaching Careers (The Center), californiateach.org, is extending the invitation to your alumni and current college students who might be interested in exploring a career in teaching in California through VIRTUAL career fairs. Teacher candidates can join the event from a laptop, tablet, or mobile device and connect with teacher preparation representatives and/or school district administrators to chat or simply browse. No traveling required!



The Virtual Fair will take place on March 13-14, 2019, and will run both days from 4:00pm - 6:00pm, PST.



To attend this event, teacher candidates register online. Registration instructions and information is attached or simply click here, https://californiateach.org/candidate/jobfairs/public. We recommend all candidates upload a current resume. Registration information should reflect your teaching interest, the California regions you are interested in teaching, or region interest for participation in a teacher preparation program. The Virtual Fair platform will match candidates to agencies using information provided by candidates!



Once a candidate registers for the virtual event, they are able to login and view the virtual platform. The platform will go live on March 13th at 4:00 pm. Registration stays open through the event. Please review the attached FAQ as well as the registration flyer.



The mission of the Center is to elevate the teaching profession through attracting new and existing talent to impact teaching and learning in California’s 21st Century classrooms. Dear Students:

Aztecs for Education is coordinating a common reading experience in December. We are hosting an author visit with Mitali Perkins at Crawford High School. On Friday, December 14th at 1:00pm, Mitali Perkins will be at Crawford High School. From 2:00-3:00pm, AFE members will host a book club with Crawford High students. (We'll be giving out free pizza!). Come join us!!!! All are welcome!

If you plan on attending the author event, we'll give you a FREE copy of Mitali Perkins' BAMBOO PEOPLE. This is a great opportunity to learn about a diverse culture and to connect with our local community. We have limited copies so commit soon! Come by Dr. Loh-Hagan's office (EBA 255F). Books will be given away until they're gone. A free book for your time and commitment! That's a great deal!
