It’s not every day you get to play with toys at work, but last month colleagues from our Curriculum, Marketing, Corporate Communications and Editorial teams participated in an Agile workshop, in which they had to build a Lego plane in time-boxed sprints to deliver a minimum viable product (MVP).

In 2018, Bridgepoint held several donation drives to support people in need. Our teams donated clothing for military families, school supplies for children, and food items for families in need. We also held seven blood drive events at our locations and more.

We had 48 team members log more than 100 volunteer hours for 2018, but only Enrollment Services Advisor Cirrus Sawyer logged over 1,100. He racked up that amazing total coaching four youth sports teams. To recognize Cirrus for his dedication and service, Bridgepoint is donating $1,000 to the charity of his choice.

Team members across our locations celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday last week by participating in the National Education Association’s Read Across America event with United Way. Now in its 17th year, the event strives to make reading fun for students in the most critical stages of literacy.

We’ve already introduced you to Ashford graduate Andrew Parker, who used his bachelor’s in Business Administration to propel his new family business to success. But we recently updated his student story to add that he was not only elected to the township committee in Egg Harbor, where he lives in New Jersey, but he is also the first African-American to be elected to the office in the township. We can’t wait to see what Andrew does next.
