Join San Diego Unified School District and Imagine Brave Spaces for a free interactive play for children and families on Monday, October 12th, at St. Luke's Church from 6:45-8:30 pm.

"Safa's Story" is designed to cultivate cultural sensitivity and belonging. Based on the true story of a San Diego fifth grader with a bicultural American and Zimbabwean background, the program equips children with skills to take action for themselves and their peers in situations of bullying and conflict. The play first ends in heartbreak, before audience members step into the story to change its outcome, practicing empathy and allyship in the moment.

The good news is we had a wildly successful San Diego Unified School District Debut Day at Lincoln High School, featuring performances by these ensembles with students from all over the district:
🎻Elementary Honor Orchestra
🎺Elementary Honor Band
🎤4th Grade Honor Choir || 5th Grade Honor Choir
🪈Recorder Ensemble
🪕Ukulele Ensemble

The bad news is the performances were so stunning we didn't get photos of every group! 🫠

Congratulations and many thanks to all the conductors, managers, educators, supporting musicians, organizations, and families that made this event possible.

All the world's a stage at La Jolla Playhouse's annual at UC San Diego, where advanced theatre students from Henry, Hoover, and Morse High Schools performed this past this weekend as one of 20+ immersive, interactive and surprising art experiences.

Their show, "Fool’s Gold: A Trickster R***e," was devised by the students this spring and featured clowning, chaos, and big goofy energy!
