The good news is we had a wildly successful San Diego Unified School District Debut Day at Lincoln High School, featuring performances by these ensembles with students from all over the district:

The bad news is the performances were so stunning we didn't get photos of every group! 🫠

The 2026 San Diego Unified School District Showcase of Learning had VAPA represented through a visual art gallery and performances on multiple stages across the Lincoln campus!

The High School Honors Visual Art Exhibition featured drawings, paintings, mixed media, and ceramics from Canyon Hills, Crawford, Henry, La Jolla, Lincoln, LMEC, Mira Mesa, Morse, Point Loma, Scripps Ranch, and SDSCPA. The exhibition will continue with a full showcase of all student works at the Comic-Con Museum from May 2-23.

🎺 Mariachi from Bell Middle School
🎭 JumpStart Musical Theatre from Mountain View School
🎸 Guitar trio from Crawford High School
🎻 Band, Orchestra, and a student pianist from Lincoln High School

All the world's a stage at La Jolla Playhouse's annual at UC San Diego, where advanced theatre students from Henry, Hoover, and Morse High Schools performed this past this weekend as one of 20+ immersive, interactive and surprising art experiences.

Their show, "Fool’s Gold: A Trickster R***e," was devised by the students this spring and featured clowning, chaos, and big goofy energy!

We spent our Wednesday night at the San Diego Unified School District 🎶Honor Jazz 🎶 concert, featuring many of our fabulous middle and high school vocal🎤 and instrumental 🎷 student musicians, directed by incredible industry professionals.

📣 CONGRATULATIONS to Mission Bay High School for being recognized as a 2026 Best Communities for Music Education school recipient. This award from the NAMM Foundation recognizes schools and districts nationwide for their leadership in expanding equitable access to music education. 🎶

💥High School Day of Dance 2026!💥
Students from four San Diego Unified School District high schools took a rotation of three dance classes in different styles, saw professional performances, and engaged in a Q/A.

San Diego Ballet
And representatives from the dance programs at Mesa College, Grossmont College, Southwestern College, and UCSD.

🎶 On Sunday, March 22, 300 students performed in the San Diego Unified School District Middle School and High School Honor Band and Orchestra concert, held at the beautiful Jacobs Music Center (thank you to the San Diego Symphony!). Stunning performances all around - we are so proud of our music students and the music educators who guide them along the way.
