With the dedicated and expert guidance of Ms. Julie Rivard, their hard work, curiosity, and commitment truly shined.

And we’re even prouder to share that two students have advanced to the State Science Fair… can you guess who? 👀✨

Friendships made at Hebrew Day truly last a lifetime 💙

Hebrew Day Middle School is already planning their 10-year reunion — and we love seeing these lasting connections continue to grow.

Thank you 🙏 📷

Our first graders received their very first Siddur - a meaningful milestone that gives them ownership over the sacred words they will use throughout their lives to build their own personal connection to Hashem.

The Siddur Party never ceases to amaze us, reminding us that no matter how many times we've witnessed this milestone, it remains a remarkable moment. The growth and dedication displayed by our young learners are simply awe-inspiring!

It marks the beginning of a lifelong journey of discovering prayer and nurturing a relationship with Hashem. Watching our students take this step with excitement and pride fills us with so much joy.

We couldn’t be prouder of our first graders as they begin this beautiful new chapter. 💙

Saying goodbye to Malka and Yisroel Weiser ❤️

Malka and Yisroel have been such important pillars of our school community - deeply loved, widely respected, and truly valued by students, families, and staff alike. Their presence, dedication, and heart have left a lasting mark on San Diego Hebrew Day.

As Mr. Yisroel Weiser concludes an extraordinary two decade journey of teaching and admin career at Hebrew Day, we reflect with immense gratitude on the impact he has had on generations of students and our entire school community.

While we are saddened to see them go and will miss them dearly, we are filled with appreciation for all they have given.

We wish them continued success, joy, and blessing in all that comes next. They will always hold a special place in our hearts at Hebrew Day. ❤️

🔬 8th Grade Science Fair - A Moment to Celebrate 🔬

After months of research, experimentation, and preparation, our 8th graders submitted their Science Fair projects this week - and they did beautifully.

Guided by Ms. Rivard, who brings 26 years of experience preparing and sending SDHD students to the Science Fair, alongside Ms. Leera and Ms. Knap, students presented thoughtful, polished work that reflects our commitment to academic excellence.

We’re proud to share that every project was accepted to the San Diego County Science Fair, with special congratulations to the three students selected as winners by our internal judges.

👉 Swipe to see all the projects and our winners at the end.

Hold on, County - here we come. 🧪✨

🕯️✨ Last night, our younger students celebrated the first candle lighting of Chanukah.

Chanukah tells the story of a dark time in Jewish history, when the Second Temple in Jerusalem was desecrated and fundamental practices like Torah study and observing Shabbat were forbidden. A small group of Jews, untrained but determined, came together to reclaim the Temple. They found only a single vial of pure oil, enough for one night, which miraculously lasted for eight.

For Jews everywhere, Chanukah is a reminder that even in the darkest times, our faith, traditions, and community can shine brightly. It’s a celebration of perseverance, courage, and the power of coming together. Each candle we light honors those who fought to preserve our heritage and inspires us to keep our light alive today.

Thank you to our PTO and all the volunteers who made this celebration possible. 💙

Chag Chanukah Sameach! 🕎
