Southwestern College student unable to speak finds voice as award-winning writer Alfonso Camacho, who is autistic and suffers from profound apraxia, making it impossible to speak, is a star journalist at the Sun school newspaper and El Sol magazine, and, now, is also the winner of a Pacemaker award, which is considered to be the collegiate Pulitzer Prize.

Growth continues at home, in routines, and in small daily choices.
That’s why we share resources—books, tools, and tips—to extend communication beyond the classroom.
Because support is a lifestyle, not a time slot.
