The D.A.D.S. sure know how to kick off the holiday season! It was a great turnout for this morning’s Cowles Mountain hike and the energy was 💪🏻. Have a great break, everyone - see you in 2026.

What a fun day for our 4th graders as they showcased their hard work in music class, performing songs for friends and family. A big thanks to our dedicated music teachers! The Holiday Bazaar shop is officially closed after a successful week of shopping! A HUGE thank you to all the amazing volunteers who made the event special, and to the teachers and staff for accommodating during an already busy time. The countdown to winter break has begun!

The Dailard Variety Show is happening on February 18 and 19 and participation slips are due on January 9. Slips have been sent home through the classrooms, but if you need one – or would like to learn more about this beloved event – visit dailard.org/events/variety-show/.

Last Friday, in a special ceremony, our Dolphins welcomed Latasha Fennell, retired Senior Chief USN to campus. As a veteran herself, she helped the students understand the importance of this brave role. "Serving wasn't always easy," she said. "But it taught me about courage, teamwork and never giving up. And most of all, it gave me the chance to protect the freedoms we all enjoy today." On Veterans Day, and every day, we thank and honor all who served.

Join the D.A.D.S. for their annual Paper Airplane Night on Monday, November 17, from 6 to 7. The students will learn about flight, build 2-3 designs and then fly them around the courtyard. Did you know that 1 in 4 San Diegans don't have consistent access to nutritious food? It goes beyond having enough food — good nutrition is important in supporting a healthy and active lifestyle. Dailard has partnered with the San Diego Food Bank to help local families in need, and you can help by dropping off non-perishable food items to the designated bins on campus. The most needed items include canned chicken and tuna, dry and canned beans, cereal, rice, nuts and seeds, peanut butter, canned soup, canned and dried fruit, canned vegetables, powdered milk and infant formula.
