More details about the yard work:
- sanding off 2 layers of bottom paint
- one coat of primer plus many touch ups
- epoxy bottom and sanded to 400 grit
- spray painted racing bottom paint
- sanded top paint
- massive epoxy and smoothing work
- spot primer on top sides (should have done a full coat of primer all around)
- 4 coats of top paint, rolled and tipped. 2 parts paint, Red Rochelle color. Notice the paint has 4 ingredients from the picture.

- new propeller, anode, cutlass bearing, hull viewing window.
- rebuilt transmission

the Astra logo on the hull WILL come back. Had to wait 3 weeks for the top side paint to cure.

ASTRA Racing has undertaken a 3 weeks yard refit in February. I wanted to acknowledge the hard work from the race crew during that time. All team members showed up and help at some point during the refit and I could not have done it without their support.
It makes me very humble to see the crew gathering, not only for the fun racing times, but also for the tough, labor intensive boat maintenance!
This has started to pay back in better boat performace already in this last Cabrillo IV regatta finishing 1st over the line in PHRF 4, 2nd in corrected time (while apparently dragging a carpet, more on that later).
Thank you again to the Astra crew for all your dedication this last month. The Boat belongs to you as much has it does to me; you are Astra's protectors and curators.
Thank you, as well, to Koehler Kraft Boatyard for their guidance along this project.

Very thankful to the Astra crew that allowed our race team to get top place finish in the PHRF overall; winning the 2023 Charity Bay Race Jerry Beeman Perpetual Trophy.
Only 14 seconds ahead of the Sea Maiden crew after almost 2 hours of racing. Every seconds count!

Redoing the tack that pulled out while racing with too large of a genoa in the breeze. larger holes, Mahogany plugs and oversized SS wood screws with 5200 will do it.
