Did you know our oldest living alum, Eileen McCarthy (who will be 104 years old next month) made a special guest appearance at the Gala? There were also three multi-generational Pointers, Ryan Leitz c/o 2026, Anderson Lilley c/o 2029 and Ella Torres c/o 2026 who took time to tell us what being a Pointer means to them. It was pretty awesome - there's not very many communities that could make something like this happen!

The Centennial Gala is officially sold out, but Pointer alumni and PLHS supporters can join the party at the "Last Call Lounge" for drinking and dancing from 8:30–11pm on Saturday, Sept. 13. The price is $50/person and includes one drink ticket.

Do you have a favorite PLHS memory you'd like to share in the "Pointer Memories" alumni book being published for the 100th Celebration? Submissions by alumni of all ages are being requested with a deadline of TOMORROW, Thursday, July 31st:

* Stories: Must be written in digital format (not handwritten) and told in a personal, easy-to-read, conversational style. Suggested length is 500-750 words, up to three stories as needed. Only submissions sent by email to [email protected] will be included. Be sure to include your name and graduation year (Class of …).

*Photos: Up to three relevant photos (no head shots) may also be submitted and must include a caption (brief description of who, what, when, and where). Use a smartphone to take a photo of the “old” photo, then send it by email.

*Submission deadline: Thursday, July 31st

*Book availability: A total of 100 copies will be pre-printed and available for sale at Gala (see https://www.plhscentennial.com) on September 13th, priced at $20 each (cash only). In addition, starting on September 1st, the book will be available for purchase at Amazon (priced at about $25 each, including postage and delivery).
