Coach Toby brings decades of world-class experience to the mats, including:

🏆 Two-time Bellator Lightweight Tournament Finalist
🏆 2010 Shoot Boxing S-Cup World Tournament Finalist, highlighted by a victory over three-time S-Cup Champion and K-1 MAX Champion Andy Souwer.
🏆 Winner of the legendary 2009 Submission of the Year for his inverted triangle choke over Jorge Masvidal—a finish still regarded as one of the greatest submissions in MMA history.

Known for his technical precision, high-level competition experience, and passion for teaching, Coach Toby is excited to share his knowledge and help students of all skill levels elevate their grappling.

Whether you’re stepping on the mats for the first time or preparing for competition, these classes are for you.

We’re excited to share that our own Priest Smalls has been invited to throw out the Honorary First Pitch at the Padres game on Sunday, July 6, at Petco Park! 🏟️

This is a special moment for our family and for everyone who’s been part of the SD Combat Academy journey. We’d love to have our gym family there to help celebrate and cheer him on!

We’re trying to get a headcount to see how many people would be interested in attending together.
