She came to us with a simple intention: she wanted to learn Chen Style Tai Chi.
Her late older brother practiced martial arts and Chen Style Tai Chi, and she told me that whenever she practices Tai Chi, she feels as though she is practicing together with him. In that way, every movement carries a quiet memory of her brother and a connection that continues beyond words.
Her father is also a wonderful artist who paints the world through nature. Perhaps that artistic sensitivity lives in her as well.
From the first time I met her, I could feel her sincerity, discipline, and professionalism—qualities shaped through a lifetime of working as a realtor.
Throughout her training, we kept asking her to soften and release her shoulders, to create more space through her body, and to let a delicate energy continue all the way to her fingertips. And of course, we always reminded her: “Don’t forget the smile.”
Her Chen 19 Form feels like the work of a devoted student who has finished every assignment carefully and is determined to earn an A+ from her teacher.
I have deep respect for the sincerity and effort she has given to her practice.
And I am especially grateful for the memory of her late brother that continues to accompany her, for the beautiful influence of her family, and for the growth she continues to show through Tai Chi.
Congratulations on completing your Chen Style 19 Form. Your journey is only beginning. ☯️❤️
