Suzan had always had a passion of understanding the skill of crafts. She joined the women empowerment program at U-TOUCH and learned from a comprehensive array of curriculum including confidence building, promoting self-esteem, overcoming gender-based violence, and developing entrepreneurship skills. Suzan also benefited from practical, hands on skills where she was able to master how to make bead wallets, key holders, door mats, and baskets among others. She gained confidence and is also teaching others in the community, she sells her products and earns income from her business. She is grateful to U-TOUCH for the opportunity granted to her.

U-TOUCH’s sponsored student program works! Esther is one of the many GREAT examples of SUCCESS! She is a sponsored student studying at Stepping Stone Learning Center. Her family gives daily thanks to U-TOUCH for giving Esther an opportunity to be at school. She loves studying and her best subject is English and mathematics and her dream is to be a doctor. In her end of term exams, Esther scored highly with first class grades and was the best student! Esther was awarded a gift of a T-shirt of best Academic Achiever 2025.
The future is bright for Esther. Her early academic achievements bodes well for a very positive life trajectory 🙏❣️🙏

Denis had finished his high school, though like so many in Uganda had no funds to enable him to continue his education and attend university. He felt stuck! What could he do? Luckily enough he was fortunate to have a chance to work in a computer centre but lost that job opportunity since he had no computer skills. With perfect timing, he learned about the free ICT training at U-TOUCH. He was thrilled to hear about this great news through a community leader. Denis immediately enrolled and successfully completed the comprehensive computer training. Upon receiving certification based upon Microsoft Digital Literacy he got a job and he now works as a stationer in computer stationery shop which provides photocopying, printing, typing documents and so much more. He earns sufficient income to go back to school to achieve his academic dream. In addition to being able to sustain himself he is also supporting his family.

Denis attributes his success to U-TOUCH and is profoundly grateful for his training which has empowered him to move forward and overcome his “stuckness” and achieve economic self-reliance while building a bright future on higher educational accomplishment!

Patricia, a teenager dropped out of school because her aunt could not afford school fees. She was so frustrated after seeing her peers go to school. She desperately wanted to go school but that opportunity was out of reach!

She decided to go back to the village but her parents could not support her and instead kept pushing her to get married. Patricia decided to go back to her aunt and look for a job, which could provide income and some opportunity to return to school. As she was pursuing employment she heard about the free women empowerment program at U-TOUCH. With excitement she enrolled and learned a variety of skills and knowledge including entrepreneurship skills, confidence building and self-esteem, and overcoming gender based violence. She successfully finished the training and since then, her life has dramatically changed! Her peers gave her start-up capital and she opened up a grocery business where she sells fruits, vegetables and so much more. She has a dream of owning a big grocery shop in the future.

She is now living a happy life because she earns income which enables her to not only take care of herself but also supports her aunt with buying food, clothing and medical care. U-TOUCH has been a profound game changer in Patricia’s life!
