Mark Twain said it best! If you want to succeed as a public speaker, you’re going to need to put in the time and effort it takes to make your speech sound authentic and engaging rather than robotic and canned.
How much time do you spend preparing?

When we’re nervous, we tend to rush through our speech as quickly as possible. While this gets us out of the spotlight quicker, it also makes us look nervous. By pausing we can appear more confident and comfortable in front of others. And if your speech is lengthy, it’s especially important because it provides a mental break for your audience to absorb your message.
So how do you master the pause? Here are some quick tips:
🔘Start your speech with a pause
🔘Pause to indicate you’re changing topics
🔘Use it to let an important point sink in
🔘Replace filler words with pauses
🔘Use it to calm yourself down
🔘Plan out your pauses beforehand, and spread throughout your presentation

Great quote by Paulo Coelho! There’s no time like the present. When setting your goals, it’s easy to get caught up in the planning phase or waiting for the “perfect moment” (which by the way doesn’t exist).
The best way to achieve your goals is to start now and make consistent progress one step at a time.
