Recently San Diego Padres superstar Fernando Tatis Jr. took over the CHS stadium alongside 1,000 of his adoring fans.

It was an incredible day of athletics, teamwork, intensive training, and pure fun. Tatis was absolutely amazing with the youth participants. Every single attendee walked away with a massive smile—none bigger than the one on Fernando’s face!

Coach Ben brings more than a decade of elite competitive club experience to the Captains. He holds a US Soccer National C License and is known for building strong team culture, CORE values, and implementing modern soccer tactics.
Coach Ben is ready to build a winning program grounded in preparation, resilience, unity, and defined team intentions. The future of Captains soccer starts now.

Clairemont High School is proud to welcome Ty Guzik as our new Boys Varsity Head Soccer Coach!

Ty grew up in San Diego and began playing soccer with PYSL when he was 5 years old. He played with the Nomads and in high school. In college, Ty played soccer and rugby at UC Davis. After graduating from UC Davis he was hired to coach the JV Boys at Scripps Ranch HS and enjoyed coaching teenagers. While Ty was completing his teaching credential, he coached for Nott’s Forest FC for a few years (boys teams). When he began teaching at San Diego HS, he was asked to coach the Girls Varsity program and did so for 3 years. Ty became the Athletic Director at SDHS and stopped coaching at the school. When his kids were old enough, he began coaching them at PYSL Blast. He has coached the 2008 and 2010 teams and have watched many of them go on to play in high school and beyond. He is looking forward to coaching at the high school level again.

Fall Tryouts start Friday. Check your sport for day/time. Make sure you have your athletic clearance completed.
