Item I-36 on the Board agenda tonight authorizes almost $52 Million for covid testing. That's more than twice what was spent on the "Summer of Joy" enrichment program. This is where the relief money is going, parents. You ok with that?

We have rescheduled the superintendent search community engagement forum, and encourage you to participate in the opportunity to meet and interact with the finalists for the superintendent position:
When: Saturday, February 26, 2022
Time: 12-1:30pm
Locations: Wilson Middle School, 3838 Orange Avenue, San Diego 92105
Please visit the superintendent search webpage for up-to-date event details.
RSVP is requested, not required. RSVP to [email protected]. If you need interpretation in another language, please complete this form at least 3 days prior to the community forum.
Translation will be available in the following languages: Spanish, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Somali, Swahili, Kizigua, and Burmese.
During the forum, you will have the opportunity to meet the superintendent finalists and share your thoughts about the position and the future of the district.
On December 14, the Board of Education announced the selection of the following individuals as finalists for the superintendent position: Dr. Lamont A. Jackson & Dr. Susan Enfield. The board will select a permanent superintendent by mid-March 2022.

Anyone know what this special closed session tonight was about? We usually get notices but didn't get a notice for this. It mentions the Superintendent Selection Process. Was that it or was there any discussion about closing schools?

Dear San Diego Unified Family,
Due to rising COVID-19 infection rates in our community, all activities related to the Superintendent search have been paused for the month of January. This means public forums planned for the week ahead have been postponed. The State of the District Address, which was scheduled for January 18, will also be postponed.
Christopher Rice-Wilson, Chair of Superintendent Search Advisory Committee, notified committee members of the change through the following letter. We will continue to keep all families, employees, and school district stakeholders up to date, and will post information on the district website.

FYI: just left the district office San Diego Unified School District and was instructed that the 2-tests are NOT mandatory to return on Monday.
