Use the brag book I suggested you keep ( can be found in a previous post) and use it to share your accomplishments with your manager, let them know it is time you evolve and that the one way they can help is by creating an opportunity for you to shadow someone in the role you desire. At the same time look for trainings and forums in your field to help you grow
3. Use the skills you obtained from your exposure to shadow similar roles and projects at work , or skills gathered from trainings and forums in the field you have chosen then offer your help on projects as a freelancer ( check out Upwork or Fiverr)
4. Continue the work of networking with others in your field
5. Take control of your brand and consistently present yourself to your manager and organization with the power of your new story.
These tips will help you to take responsibility for your own professional development

3 signs you’re in a job that is below your potential and it’s time to move on!!
1. Your tasks are easy- if you can do them with your eyes closed , especially if you have no new challenges to stretch you
2. You have not found anything new to learn, especially if you have exhausted your options on learning new skills with the role
3. You have made all the connections and process improvements you can within the role especially if you have no other options for growth through networking or improving processes within your department
In the end only you will know for sure when it’s time to go. For me, no promotion opportunities and no training opportunities are my tell tale signs that it’s time to move on. What are your signs that it’s time to move on?
Great companies help employees to reach their full potential through training and exposure to projects that take them from one level to the other along a career path. If you are experiencing these 3 signs today you are in a role that is below your current potential.

Have you thought of addressing other people’s perceptions of you? If so, don’t, I say this because someone’s perception of you can be far from your truth . The thing about perception is that it’s often a persons reality , and because someone else’a perception of you is not always in your control you should not spend you time addressing an isolated situation.
What you should do is control the entire narrative, work to change the way you’ve been ‘branded’ with action.

Step 2- Then find 2 positive things about the same thing or situation.

1. Journal your daily reactions and then look for whether you feel Job satisfaction or dissatisfaction, and then document why.
2. Determine if the areas of dissatisfaction or satisfaction are internal (within you) or external (within the organization/environment )
3. Acknowledge your part in the change you want to see. Where are the areas for improvement and how can you get started today?
