Another great video I found that explains the parent coaching model so beautifully. I love explaining parent coaching with the personal trainer analogy:
I am like your personal trainer, just like if you'd like to meet your fitness goals, you would expect me to train you how to do the exercises 1x/week and help you create a realistic plan that you can stick to...
But you would know that if you were not doing the daily practice, it would be impossible to really see progress on your goals.
The same goes for speech therapy! We can get so much farther if I teach you how to be your child's speech therapist/ teacher rather than me just doing what I can do in just 1 hour/week.
Check out this video to learn more about parent coaching and teletherapy and please drop any questions or comments below.
Much love to you all!

Hi friends, thought I would share this helpful video I came across to help answer questions like these:
Does a baby really need speech therapy?
What does it take to get to my baby saying their first word?
Why is early intervention necessary?

Just took some of my own medicine and followed along to this practice.
Noticed a little blooper at the end that I didn't catch when editing, oopsie! please forgive me;)
Just a reminder to have grace with ourselves and love ourselves through all our little imperfections.
I have a few kids yoga videos incorporating some kundalini moves in my channel.
Hope they bring a little more peace, self love, and smiles into your day.
Much love to you all,
Kimberlee

Have you tried using choices to help your child's imitation skills and also to help with behavior?
First, give them a choice of two items they can see-- "do you want an apple or do you want crackers?" and hold them out of reach. if your child shows you which one they want by reaching for the one they want, you say "crackers", then give at least 5 seconds of wait time to see if they will imitate you.
Try saying and waiting one more time if they don't imitate or attempt. If they do imitate or attempt sound (other than whining or crying) great! then give them their crackers and say "yes, I want crackers". if they do not, be sure they are calm and then give them what they asked for.
This will also help with behavior as you can ask them in the future--"did you want to walk and hold mommy's hand or ride in the stroller?" or "do you want to read a book or color?" Toddlers and children thrive with choices as it gives them a sense of control in their lives.
Let me know how it goes!
