Congratulations Alfonso Autistic & Awesome, Alfonso Julian!

Southwestern College student unable to speak finds voice as award-winning writer Alfonso Camacho, who is autistic and suffers from profound apraxia, making it impossible to speak, is a star journalist at the Sun school newspaper and El Sol magazine, and, now, is also the winner of a Pacemaker award, which is considered to be the collegiate Pulitzer Prize.

At Colmena Academy, we meet each student where they are—and help them move forward with purpose.
