Celebration extravaganza

For Tuesday’s activity we talked about Kodomo no Hi. A Day where children are celebrated in Japan.

We learned that it was originally a holiday for boys of the family and it has spread to children all over the country. Children are celebrated and Hopes for bright futures for all of them are demonstrated.

One of the ways that families celebrate is by hanging these flags in shape of Koi fish outside of their homes. Each fish represents a member of the family.

We used watercolors to decorate our own fish, scissors to cut out her fish and lastly we did some whole punches so that we can tie a piece of yarn to it and hang it in our classroom.

This week is so fun and full of new knowledge.

CELEBRATION EXTRAVAGANZA

Yesterday we started our celebration extravaganza week with Hanukkah. We read books about Hanukkah we watched a video that described how Hanukkah came to be Taylor two children.

We talked about the menorah and we re-created our own version of it.

We used our find motor skills for cutting coloring and painting.
We used our receptive skills by talking about what we had just learned while we did art.
Not everybody learns the same that is why I try to teach information in different forms. Such as books, videos, songs and art.
