Celebration extravaganza
For Tuesday’s activity we talked about Kodomo no Hi. A Day where children are celebrated in Japan.
We learned that it was originally a holiday for boys of the family and it has spread to children all over the country. Children are celebrated and Hopes for bright futures for all of them are demonstrated.
One of the ways that families celebrate is by hanging these flags in shape of Koi fish outside of their homes. Each fish represents a member of the family.
We used watercolors to decorate our own fish, scissors to cut out her fish and lastly we did some whole punches so that we can tie a piece of yarn to it and hang it in our classroom.
This week is so fun and full of new knowledge.
