In this transformative workshop, personal storytelling becomes the key to unlocking a range of powerful emotions—from joy to fear, love to grief. We'll explore how clowns use stories to connect with both the audience and themselves, taking us on a journey inside our hearts, outside our comfort zones and help us find deeper meaning in the chaos of life.

Through a series of playful exercises, games and improvisations you will be encouraged to take risks and find the comedy in your story.

We are excited to offer “Clown + The Tragic”, a workshop that will explore finding heroic comedy in the tragic.

Registration is now open - 2-DAY WORKSHOP - FRI (7-9pm) & SAT (3-5pm) March 27th- 28th.

In this workshop you will learn how tragic clowning emphasizes vulnerability, sorrow, and relies on "pathos" (suffering) to connect with the audience's own experiences of failure and loneliness. The tragic clown overcomes through unwavering fortitude and determination, revealing the hilariously flawed but authentic human experience.

The tragic clown serves as a mirror for human fragility, demonstrating that laughter and tears are often intertwined. Through a series of playful exercises, games and improvisations you will be encouraged to take risks and find the tragic clown in your performance.

About The Workshop
In our last workshop of the year, we are offering one of our foundation classes, “Discover Your Clown Persona”. In this workshop, you’ll tap into your core character—the one that’s been waiting inside you all along. Through your unique movements, your clown will begin to emerge: bold, honest, and unmistakably you. Your clown is the regretless, enthusiastic expression of your comic nature—not something you create, but something you discover.

We’ll explore the art of clowning through fun, engaging techniques drawn from mime, physical comedy, and improvisation—unlocking your creativity and comic potential.
You’ll uncover what makes your physicality funny and develop your original clown character. You'll gain greater specificity and a stronger sense of play, learning to physically express your comedic voice and collaborate with a partner clown. Using movement and imagination, you’ll create bold, larger-than-life stories.

This workshop will teach you how your clown exists in the moment, responding to and constantly finding games with the audience and fellow performers. Through a series of playful exercises, games and improvisations you will be encouraged to take risks and be impulsive.
