“Green and Gold”

I’ve been realizing how important it is to carve out time for myself on the weekend, especially nurturing my creative side, so I have been intentionally making time to work on my art. Starting with some digital work – a photo collage, called Green and Gold. 💚⭐️🌳✨

I wanted this to invoke the feeling of a deep green jewel, almost like an emerald, with a brilliant and dreamlike feelings, underworld about it. A vision of entering a portal or dimension into another world or forest filled with emerald green and gold light. An escape from reality, where the green color resembles growth, change, abundance and clarity. The blues create a distinct contrast in color. The imagery was taken from photos I took on our trip to Olympic National Park in state Washington in August. A magical place. 💙🩵

4. “Succulent Sunset Symmetry” A study of sunsets in the pattern of a local succulent. Combining my love of plants with love of colorful sunsets.While going through my 8,500 photos 😁 of sunsets I realized each of them had a story, which I remembered and went back to while choosing which to use for this piece. It was a super fun project. I have some variations I might post in the next few days if you’re interested! 🧡💛🩵🧡
