The Artificial Intelligence Institute organized the "Workshop on Knowledge-infused Mining and Learning" co-located with 26th ACM SIGKDD Conference. The workshop hosted a series of 4 keynotes covering major issues surrounding "Adoption of AI" :
1. Dr. Manuela Veloso's thoughts on "Achieving Symbiotic Autonomy in AI-based Financial Decision Making,"
2. Dr. Sriraam Natarajan's projected his research on "Human Allied Probabilistic Learning."
3. Dr. Jose-Luis Ambite's Keynote summarized, "Various methods for preserving Semantic in Biomedical Data Science."
4. Dr. Pieter De Leenheer provided a vision of "Achieving Data Accountability in the Age of Data Intelligence."
The workshop streamed with seven live paper presentations (out of the ordinary), covering vibrant topics: Knowledge Intensive Learning, Socio-behavioral perspective to AI for COVID-19, Measuring Negative Exposure of Media on Mental Health of individuals, Pseudo Labeling with Task and Language-specific Attention for Cross-Lingual Crisis Tweet Classification, and many more.
The workshop conferred Student Best Paper Award to Devendra Singh Dhami from StarLing Lab at UT Dallas for the impactful contribution in improving GANs for clinical care by incorporating human advice. Paper:https://aiisc.ai/KiML2020/papers/KiML2020_paper_3.pdf
The workshop has created a playlist of all the presentations, which can found on the following link: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLqJzTtkUiq54bk4w92GzoUguE7jHP_LUa

As stay-in-place orders have been issued in countries all over the world, many people have increased their usage and time spent on social media. Starting from mid-March, we have used artificial intelligence techniques to collect and analyze over 700 million tweets on Twitter and about 700,000 news articles about the COVID-19 pandemic. We intended to understand how Americans are dealing with depression, anxiety, and addiction caused by COVID-19. We have used algorithms to estimate the age and gender and categorize the tweets into GenZ, Millennials, and others. We have analyzed how different age groups are reacting to triggers such as school closures, increasing deaths, etc. during the pandemic. Complete detail of the analysis curated by us has been published at https://www.healthline.com/health-news/what-your-social-media-posts-reveal-about-how-youre-dealing-with-covid-19
