🐬 Marine Biology: Mammalian Chemistry & Genomics
Get hands-on with dolphin tissue samples, extract and sequence DNA, and visit the National Marine Mammal Foundation.

💻 Fundamentals of Biostatistics & Bioinformatics
Learn coding in R, work with real biological data, and gain skills that may lead to a published scientific paper.

To the test… Students load their samples for polymerase chain reaction (PCR) after extracting DNA. After this step, they’ll have many copies of their gene of interest, and the sample will be ready to send for sequencing.
