This past Saturday, PLHS cadets--along with 14 other high schools--competed in SDUSD Joint Brigade's Cadet Challenge! On this day, cadets accomplished several events like a 400m sprint, a 45 & 90 lbs water jug pull, a medicine ball toss, and an ammo can lunge! The females came in 3rd place and the team came in 3rd place overall. Congratulations and we hope you're not too sore!

On November 1st and February 7th, a variety of our teams, such as regulation and exhibition drill, academics, and athletics, competed on two separate occasions. They are constantly working hard! Congratulations on all the trophies you have earned!

On January 31st, our drill teams and drone team departed different ways to compete. Our colorguard, unarmed regulation, armed regulation, and best drilled individuals competed at SDUSD Brigade's annual 5-Stage Drill event. Our drone team traveled to Pacifica High School, flying around obstacle courses in order to complete various tasks. All the teams did very well, props to them!

Over the past few weeks, the cadets in our unit have been non-stop busy! They have accomplished amazing things like placing 2nd overall for the Brigade Academic League, placing 3rd in Academics for the Chaparral Field Meet, advancing in rank, and much more. More events to come in the future!

Over the past few weeks, our colorguard team has been working hard to prepare for the Fallbrook Colorguard Competition, Massing of the Colors, School Football Games, and much more! All three of our teams at Fallbrook brought home a trophy, congratulations! Thank you for your efforts to represent our nation's colors well!

On October 4th, our Raider's team got their hands dirty crawling through mud, hauling tires, scaling walls, and much more! Although it was their first time attending, they took home place trophies in two different categories: cross country rescue and tires! Congratulations and we hope you aren't too bruised up...

On Friday, September 26th, our cadets attended the annual Miramar Airshow. Before the show, they witnessed an inspiring presentation by two Blue Angels team members and heard all about what they do! They enjoyed seeing exhibits of planes, helicopters, explosions, and many other programs at Miramar. And last but definitely not least, the US Navy Blue Angels!

On September 13th, JROTC cadets from all over San Diego Unified School District came together to compete in the Cadet Picnic! Our cadets showed school spirit with face paint and red bandanas while playing fun games and having a barbeque! Male cadets even won 2nd place in tug-of-war! Can't wait for next year!

On September 6th, cadets attended Neptune Olympics held at Crown Cove Aquatic Center in Coronado. They participated in events such as Kayaking, Surfboarding, Paddleboarding, Zodiac Rescue, and even won 1st place in both the Group Swim and Sandcastle Building competitions! Not only that, but cadets also partook in a sneaky water balloon fight and enjoyed pizza right after. We hope they enjoyed a fun beach day!

The PLHS 25-26 School Year has kicked off to a great start for NJROTC! The Cadets have hit the ground running with training events and multiple competitions already in the books.
Our yearly fundraiser is a large part of what allows us to support the efforts and positive experiences for these amazing Cadets. If you are able, please consider contributing to this year's success.

On August 16th, new cadets were welcomed by many returnees into the unit at the first event of the year, a fun NS1 orientation! Cadets enjoyed watching our exhibition teams perform a routine, playing exciting games like tug-of-war, eating yummy food brought by senior cadets, and learning about the unit as well as numerous staff positions! Through this they were able to get a sneak-peek into their NJROTC journey!
