🚀 Program Launch Announcement 🚀

Workforce development happens when education and industry work together.
WorkforceConnect, in partnership with World of Work Foundation, AGC Apprenticeship, Bostonia Global, Cajon Valley Union School District, Heart to Serve Institute, San Diego Automotive Museum, Ignite Academy, and the office of Joel Anderson, is proud to kick off our 2nd Annual Pre- & Youth Apprenticeship Programs.

This year, we’ve expanded opportunities to 36 students who will receive:

✅ Hands-on, real-world training
✅ Industry mentorship
✅ Career pathway exposure
✅ Paid work-based learning

✨ Today, we are spotlighting 15 students working toward earning their CNA credentials — taking meaningful steps into the healthcare workforce while building compassion, technical skills, and confidence.

Students aren’t just learning about careers — they are actively building skills, earning wages, and gaining the experience to step into the workforce.

👏 Thank you to our incredible partners for making this possible.

📣 Stay tuned as we highlight student projects, employer mentors, and success stories throughout the program year!

👷‍♂️ Building Futures, One Nail at a Time! 🪚✨

WorkforceConnect was thrilled to host 46 students from Chula Vista Learning Community Charter for a hands-on Career Exploration Day at the AGC Apprenticeship Training Center!

Students dove into the world of construction with:
🔧 A plumbing competition
🏗️ Heavy equipment simulators
🪚 Wood framing and nail driving contests
⚙️ Power tool demos
🧱 and even metal stud framing

Even though most students have college in their future plans, it’s essential to expose them to the wide range of possibilities that exist beyond traditional paths — opportunities they might not have discovered without experiences like these.

Their excitement was contagious as they explored new skills and potential career pathways in the trades!

A huge thank you to our incredible partners — Junior Achievement of San Diego County, the World of Work Foundation, AGC Apprenticeship Program, and PHCC San Diego Chapter — for making this day possible.

And a special shoutout to Jon Hill and the AGC Apprenticeship team of volunteers for their leadership, energy, and commitment to helping students experience the World of Work firsthand! 👏
