San Carlos Flight Center was provides flight training, aircraft rental, and educational seminars centered around our core values of Safety, Community, and Adventure. Our immaculate fleet of 26 airplanes is the newest, most diverse fleet on the field. We are proud to offer the Upwind Summer Scholarship Program, which awards full flight training to high school students. Our FlyOutGroup (FOG) is a cl

ub open to anyone - SCFC members, pilots who own their own airplanes, and aspiring aviators. FOG sponsors monthly lunch and full moon dinner flights, adventure day trips, weekend getaways, and multi-day excursions to stretch your skills and experience level. Give us a call or stop by today. SCFC and Upwind had the pleasure of representing aviation at this year’s Alaska Aviation Day where we hosted two booths to talk about the pilot training process (SCFC) and how to read VFR charts (Upwind). The event was hosted at SFO and our members had the joy of flying in some of the SCFC fleet as part of the plane gallery. It was an amazing day filled with learning and excitement! ✈️💙🤍

Last weekend the FlyOutGroup (FOG) took on SoCal for the second time at the March Air Force Reserve Base for the Southern California Airshow of 2025!!! They saw a variety of cool planes and demonstrations including the amazing Thunderbirds and Dawn Patrol. It was a weekend filled with fun and adventures, we hope you will join us next time!!!

Yosemite Firefall 🔥🏞️

SCFC passenger Andrew was fortunate enough to capture a shot of the rare Yosemite Firefall on El Capitan. The Firefall is a phenomenon that occurs in late February when the light hits Horsetail Falls at just the right angle, creating an illusion of fire or lava cascading down the granite slab.
