🚨 BREAKING NEWS: UC May Bring Back the SAT & ACT for Future Applicants 🚨

The University of California is considering reinstating the SAT and ACT as part of the admissions process, with changes potentially impacting students applying for Fall 2028 admission. 📚

The discussion comes after more than 1,000 UC faculty members raised concerns about declining math preparedness among incoming students. Faculty reports indicate a significant increase in students entering UC campuses without the mathematical foundation needed for college-level STEM coursework, with some professors reporting the need to reteach middle-school math concepts. Recent data has shown a sharp rise in students requiring remedial math support since the UC system became test-blind in 2020.

While no final decision has been made, UC has announced a formal review process to determine whether standardized testing should return as part of admissions. The review will go through faculty committees, the Academic Senate, and ultimately the UC Board of Regents.

🎓 What does this mean for students in the Class of 2028 and beyond?

✅ Stay informed about UC admissions updates.
✅ Consider preparing for the SAT or ACT as a precaution.
✅ Continue focusing on strong grades, rigorous coursework, and extracurricular involvement.

We’ll continue to monitor this developing story and share updates as they become available.
