Come on now, people. Let's get on the ball!

As classes begin at CSUSB, we've got some quick asks to get involved in CFA's fight for a fair contract:

** Not a CFA member? Become one today and join our fight for better working conditions and student learning conditions.

** Add CFA's strike language to your syllabi to let your students know that a job action is possible this Fall.

** And sign the solidarity pledge to commit to take action for a fair contract.

# # Membership, syllabi language, and solidarity pledge are all available at the link in our bio. # #

Ready to get more involved in our chapter and union? Join us Thursday for our San Bernardino chapter's monthly eboard meeting, which is open to all members. Let us know what challenges you're facing in your department and across campus, and let's organize to create a better CSU and San Bernardino campus.

CFA-San Bernardino is hitting the ground running as we fight for a fair contract.

This week, we're looking forward to meeting our newest members at new faculty orientation, showing our solidarity at President Gomez's first convocation, and reconnecting with colleagues at our annual CFA Welcome Back Luncheon. Don't miss it!

Also, be sure to include in your syllabi CFA's language about a possible strike this fall. Your students deserve a heads up that management's intransigence could result in an interruption to their classes. English and Spanish versions at the link in our CFA-San Bernardino IG bio.

Classes don't start for a couple weeks, but the organizing is in full swing at CFA-San Bernardino and California Faculty Association.

We're fighting for the most potent package of contract proposals any of us can remember. But CSU management wants nothing but take-backs.

If we want to create the CSU we need and our students & communities deserve -- the People's University -- we're ALL going to need to fight for it. Together.

For his "exceptional leadership," Chancellor Mildred García has -- despite his central role in a $12M gender discrimination case and 14 years of mismanagement and toxicity -- granted outgoing CSUSB President Tomás Morales a $344k transition appointment.

This morning, CalMatters published a scathing report about the CSU's payment of $12 million to settle a case that called the University a "cesspool of gender harassment and discrimination."

When two women administrators reported harrowing harassment and pay discrimination at CSUSB, their concerns were dismissed as "low-grade bias," and they were forced out of their jobs.

At trial, CSUSB President Tomas Morales testified that he knew which offices to report discrimination to, but did not. He also did not implement policy changes that could have nipped these issues in the bud.

This is a moral outrage with devastating financial, reputational, and human costs. But it gets worse.

This Wednesday, Chancellor Garcia is expected to announce that Morales is in good standing and eligible for retreat rights and hundreds of thousands in transition pay. But eligibility is not entitlement.

CFA-San Bernardino calls on the CSU to launch a prompt, impartial investigation into CSUSB administrators' enabling of and failure to report gender discrimination, and we call on Chancellor Garcia and the Board to deny Morales transition pay and retreat rights.

Outgoing CSUSB President Tomás Morales leaves behind a $12M gender harassment & retaliation settlement and 14 years of mismanagement and toxicity. Now the CSU wants to give him a golden parachute.

Tell Chancellor GarcĂa and the Board of Trustees: Eligibility is not entitlement. No transition pay and no retreat rights for Morales.
