Dear CSUSB Faculty,

OCE encourages you to attend an engaging presentation on Photography and Social Change led by Dr. Anissa Rogers, Professor of Social Work and OCE Faculty Associate, which will be held on Friday, March 3, 2023, from 12 - 1 p.m. via Zoom. The presentation will feature guest presenters Dr. Matthias J. Naleppa, professor at Radford University, and Dr. Kristina M. Hash, professor at West Virginia University.

This presentation will briefly explore the history of photography in social change efforts as well as contemporary uses of digital photography by practitioners, educators, and researchers. The specific methods of Photovoice, photo mapping, and digital storytelling will be highlighted with applications, resources, and course assignments for each.

The Office of Community Engagement is kindly asking CSUSB faculty to help us complete the CSU Chancellor Office CELT survey before the deadline on Friday, February 17th, 2023.

The survey should not take more than 10 minutes and it asks simple questions about your community-engaged course. Once completed, OCE will email an official letter recognizing your course’s assigned community-engagement attribute. You may use this letter for your FAR/RPT and it is good for up to 3 years.

Don’t forget to sign-up for OCE’s Community Engagement Writing Accountability Group (CE-WAG) before the registration deadline next Tuesday, January 31st.

CE-WAG provides community-engaged faculty the space to write in community, while also supporting the writing and publication processes. Faculty participants who provide at least 10 progress updates will receive $200 of professional development funds. CE-WAG will run from January 24th - May 9th, 2023.

Please join us for Coyote Cares Day 2023! Coyote Cares Day is an event celebrating volunteer service in the community. CSUSB students, faculty, and staff will engage in volunteer service in the city of San Bernardino and the surrounding area featuring partnerships with local nonprofit agencies.

The Office of Community Engagement invites you to join the Spring 2023 Community Engagement – Writing Accountability Group (CE-WAG) at either the San Bernardino or Palm Desert Campus, which will run from January 24th - May 9th, 2023.

CE-WAG provides community-engaged faculty the space to write in community, while also supporting the writing and publication processes. CE-WAG serves as a habit-building program aimed at making scholarly writing automatic and as routine as tying your shoes! It’s also a great opportunity to build professional and personal relationships.
