🏆🎉Congratulations to our 11 Mt. Vernon scholars who achieved PERFECT ATTENDANCE this school year! These students showed incredible commitment and dedication by coming to school all 180 days. 📚⭐️ A special thank you to those families who made this achievement possible. Getting students to school every day for an entire school year is no small feat, and we recognize the hard work and commitment it takes. We are so proud of our scholars and grateful for the families who helped them reach this milestone.💛💙

🪅MT. VERNON FIESTA 2026🎉 We appreciate all families who came out to our annual fundraiser and to the staff who dedicated their time to making it a wonderful event! Students and families enjoyed exhilerating games, bracelet making, snack bar, ice cream truck, and the fun of playing games with Mt. Vernon staff. 🐝☀️

🐝 Principal Alvarado challenged Mt. Vernon scholars to read 51 million words through Accelerated Reader. 📚 Not only did our BEES rise to the challenge, they surpassed it, reading an incredible 57 million words! 🏆 To celebrate this amazing achievement, we welcomed to campus. Scholars had the opportunity to interact with, feed, and learn about a variety of animals. 🐪🦓🐖🐐🦙🐇🐢 We are so proud of our readers for their dedication, perseverance, and love of learning! 💛✨

🍭Sip, Sip, Hooray! 🍬 Classes with the highest words read for A.R. this year celebrated with “Make Your Own Drink!” Students enjoyed decorating their cups, choosing a flavor and adding candy. Mrs. Holodnick’s third grade class read over 9,000,000 words! Way to lead as readers! 📚🐝

☀️🏃🏽⚽️Thank you to our SBCUSD Elementary PE Department and our PE teacher, Mr. Servin, for making our Field Day memorable this year! From exciting sports challenges to splash-filled water activities, our students gave it all their all and created memories that will all summer long. 🌈💦🐝

☀️Our second annual Literacy on the Lawn was filled with sunshine, stories and smiles as families joined their students on our field to enjoy lunch and read together. Moments like these remind us that a love for reading grows strongest when it’s shared. 📚A heartfelt THANK YOU to for generously donating books to support our students, and to our Student Leadership team for guiding and welcoming families. Celebrating literacy, connection and learning beyond the classroom brought our Mt. Vernon community together! 🐝

Safe Routes to School Program from visited our Mt. Vernon Bees! 🐝🚦 Students got to participate in Mini Main Street activities where they learned about walking safely to school. Mt. Vernon Staff extended the fun with an inflatable race at the end of the day. Way to show up, learn & have a little fun, BEES!🐝💛🌻

Mt. Vernon showed up. Mt. Vernon rose to the challenge. Mt. Vernon won the Attendance Challenge against Roosevelt - and what better way to celebrate than with a FOAM PARTY! 🫧🐝 From laughter-filled foam fun to a little friendly moment we won’t forget (yes…the Roosevelt Principal and Vice Principal got SILLY STRINGED🤭🎯), our students made this victory unforgettable! We are so proud of our students for showing up, supporting one another, and proving that attendance matters EVERY SINGLE DAY! Great job, BEES, let’s keep the momentum going!
