Today, we’re celebrating culture, history, and community at SBVC! 🇲🇽

In recognition of Mexican Independence Day, we invited members of our campus community to join the celebration by sharing a festive grito! 🎤

El Grito commemorates the Grito de Dolores, Father Miguel Hidalgo’s call on September 16, 1810, that helped launch Mexico’s struggle for independence from Spain. Today, the tradition continues as a powerful expression of Mexican history, culture, and national identity.

As a Hispanic-Serving Institution, SBVC is proud to recognize the many cultures, histories, and traditions represented throughout our diverse campus community.

Thank you to everyone who joined in and shared a grito with us!
