Hello CBC family!

Unfortunately the upcoming skating party, set for this Saturday, 4/26 is now canceled.

Stardust, the skating rink, has had some roof damage and the facility is not safe. They have had to cancel all their parties.

We are so sad that this has happened but we hope to reschedule once the facility is safe again!

Thank you to all who were signed up to attend the event. Please pass this information on to anyone you may know that was attending.

Tomorrow we are starting a drive to collect money for the child we sponsor, Brian Mukamba. He lives in Africa, and his family has very little. Encourage your kids to recycle, do extra chores, etc. to help raise the money. Our goal is $60!

1 John 3:1: "How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!" This verse is a great reminder to all of us about our IDENTITY in Christ. If you have a child in the elementary grades, this is their new remember verse! Be sure to learn it with them this week.

This coming Sunday, our elementary kids will be learning about Jonah (Jonah 1 and 2) and our preschoolers will be learning about how Jesus calmed the storm (Matthew 8:23-27 and Mark 4:35-41). Parents, take a few minutes this week to teach your kids these stories. You can use the natural rhythm of your life. Talk to them while driving, eating, or tucking them in at night.

We believe that parents are the primary spiritual leaders and teachers of their children. This is easier said than done, with busy schedules and busy lives. Parents, what are some practical ways you've found to teach your kids about spiritual matters?

Parents of preschoolers: We are starting a brand new program tomorrow called Tru Wonder! This program is designed for kids to experience how great our God is, while having fun and woshippjng Him. Come check out the new additions to our room, complete with a mailbox (with mail from God), and the Wardrobe of Wonder. Additionally, remember to pick up this week's edition of HomeFront Weekly, a valuable parent resource.

We have a new remember verse! "God demonstrates his own love for us in is: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8. Parents, make sure to learn this with your kids and talk to them about what it means. Remember that your kids get credit not only when they know the verse, but when you know it as well!

We are starting a junior high ministry on January 6, 2012. It will be for 6th - 8th grade, and held during second service in classroom B-4. We understand that junior high is a very pivotal time in a child's life. This ministry will be designed just for them, to help them grow in a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. If you have or know a junior higher, have them check it out!

Family Ministry Conversation 2012-13 - The Big Question As we look at A Story Worth Sharing with a New Generation, we have to ask "Who Is the New Generation?"

We have a new remember verse this week: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength." Mark 12:30. God wants us to love him with every fiber of our being. He wants all of us, not just a part. We encourage you to memorize this verse with your kids this week and discuss what it means.

We are collecting canned goods in children's church during the month of November for the City Mission. Kids, make sure to bring some on Sunday to help the needy in our city!
