From Coach Espinoza:
The four Pirates who represented us at CIF showed up with heart, grit, and determination—and once again, they delivered!
Every day I ask more of them, and every time, they rise to the challenge. In the Medley Relay, Eduardo, Ozzie, Connor, and Eder swam with everything they had, dropping time and finishing in the top 18. They swam not just for themselves, but for each other and for Pacific. Eduardo and Eder gave everything in their 50-yard legs of the race, knowing it was their one shot—and they made it count. That’s the spirit of champions.
Ozzie Dolan showed poise and power in the 100 backstroke, earning 11th place in Division 4—an incredible achievement. Then there’s Connor. Swimming the 200 freestyle for the first time freestyle stroke instead of butterfly, he pushed himself to a 6th place finish with a blazing time of 1:45. But he wasn’t done yet.
With one goal in mind—one final gold—Connor took on the 100 butterfly. The race was neck and neck, all three leaders tied at the first turn. Then Connor surged ahead. Going into the final stretch, it was all heart. He gave every ounce of himself, passing last year’s record-holder and finishing in second place—but with a personal-best time of 49.05.
That time punched his ticket back to STATE and earned him All-America consideration.
Now, we travel Wednesday night to Fresno. On Thursday, we train at Clovis West High School. Prelims are Friday, finals on Saturday. This will be the last time Connor swims in a Pacific High School cap.
These athletes have already shown what’s possible when talent meets heart, and when teammates become brothers. No matter what happens next, they’ve already made us proud—and inspired everyone watching.
Let’s go, Pirates!

Last night, the Pacific swim team made history—again. Against all odds, through early mornings, sore muscles, and sacrifices, they delivered.
And what a show it was.
The boys DOMINATED, winning 8 out of 11 events.
The girls, winning an individual event and a relay that ended in a jaw-dropping photo finish.
🔥 Moment of the Night?
Freshman Leila Contreras dove in for the final leg of the girls’ relay in third place. In just 50 yards, she catches up—and at the last turn, she passes first. The crowd ROARED. Teammates screamed. The energy was electric. They finish in first place!
