In observance of President Lincoln's birthday, which falls on February 12th, students will have Monday February 9th off.

Lincoln’s Birthday celebrates the life of the 16th president of the United States. Lincoln’s political career began at the age of 23 when he campaigned for the Illinois General Assembly but was unsuccessful. In 1854, he joined the Republican Party, which led to his win for the presidency in 1860. Abraham Lincoln was the president during the entire period of the American Civil War, and he fought to preserve the Union and issued the emancipation proclamation, ending slavery.
