This afternoon, Del Vallejo proudly presented Black Excellence – Then, Now, Forever in celebration of Black History Month! ❤️💛💚
Our program began with a powerful Welcome & Purpose, Color Guard, the National Anthem, and the Black National Anthem, setting the tone for a meaningful and inspiring event.
Our scholars truly shined as they honored and portrayed influential figures such as Rosa Parks, Michael Jordan, Michael Jackson, Michelle Obama, Jackie Robinson, A’ja Wilson, and many more. From spoken word to dance performances featuring “Don’t Stop the Music” and “Stand Up,” every presentation reflected confidence, creativity, and pride.
The message was clear: we are empowered by our history. ✊🏾
We are so proud of our students for their hard work and courage in sharing the legacy of Black excellence—past, present, and future.
Thank you to our staff, families, and community for supporting this special afternoon!

Today, Giddy Up Ranch brought their incredible mobile petting zoo to our campus! 🐐🐑🐪
Our scholars had the opportunity to get up close and personal with camels, goats, sheep, cows, llamas, pigs, chickens, and several other animals they don’t normally interact with on a daily basis. For many of them, it was a brand-new and unforgettable experience!
Here at Del Vallejo, we strive to provide our scholars with a wide variety of enriching experiences that spark curiosity, build connections, and create lasting memories. Today was definitely one for the books! 🐄✨

✨ Powerful Learning Moment for Our Scholars ✨
Today, Hardy Brown delivered an incredible Black History presentation to our scholars. He shared powerful insights about the past and the history of slavery, bringing history to life in a meaningful way. Even more impactful, he brought several original artifacts dating back to the 1700s — and our students were absolutely mesmerized!
We are grateful for opportunities like this that deepen understanding, spark curiosity, and honor the importance of Black history.
Last semester’s Wax Museum was unforgettable! ✨
So proud of our students for their dedication, preparation, and powerful presentations. DV excellence on full display!

This past weekend, 8 of our DV Dance Scholars proudly represented us at the district-wide Black History Parade, alongside our amazing Cadets — and we couldn’t be more proud! 🖤✨
For each of them, this was their first parade and first performance off our school grounds, and they showed up with confidence, excellence, and Jaguar pride! 🐆💃🏾 They truly performed beautifully for our community.
Way to go, DV Dance Scholars! The future is bright! 🌟

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. believed that education is a pathway to freedom, justice, and opportunity. He reminded us that “the function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically”—a mission that lives on every day at Del Vallejo Leadership and STEAM Academy.
At Del Vallejo, we honor Dr. King’s legacy by empowering scholars to become critical thinkers, compassionate leaders, and innovators who use science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math to create positive change. His vision challenges us to educate not only the mind, but also the heart—preparing our students to lead with integrity, equity, and purpose.
Today, we recommit to Dr. King’s dream by nurturing leaders who will build a more just and inclusive future. ✨
