This is one of our awesome CAPS teachers, Miss Kayla! She’s a former Riley bear and graduate of SBCUSD! We love seeing our Riley bears growing up and returning back to us! 🐻💯

Dear Virtual Learning Academy Families:
First, let me apologize for the challenges you and your child experienced gaining access to your Virtual Academy classroom. We know you were excited about starting school, and we too are excited about welcoming your family to our online learning community this year. I want to personally reassure you that we focused on resolving this issue quickly.
We have looked into the problem and found the challenges you experienced were the result of an administrative process that unexpectedly failed to match teachers with their assigned classes in the system that automates rosters. This delayed the teacher’s ability to send links to your child for logging in to their online class. We believe we have found the solution to this problem and that by now you have the login information you need. We are also mobilizing more resources to ensure everyone is equipped with the technology and connectivity needed to participate in any of our Virtual Learning Academy options.
If upon reading this letter you don’t have everything your child needs to be successful in his or her online class, please contact our Virtual Learning Academy team, led by Principal Kenneth Martinez, at (909) 888-0763.
Thank you for your patience and grace as we navigated a lot of changes together. With 95% of our students returning to campuses in person for the first time in 18 months, we had a lot of moving parts to manage yesterday. While most things about our first day of school went exactly as planned, we acknowledge that a critical piece of our Virtual Learning Academy did not. Your experience with our Virtual Learning Academy is just as important to us as the experience we provide to our in-person students.
