SBVC Psychiatric Technology Department

The Psychiatric Technology program prepares students to take the California Psychiatric Technician licensing examination.

The Psychiatric Technology program is a one-year vocational program that prepares students to work with emotionally, mentally and developmentally disabled clients in a variety of community agencies. Students may also choose to earn an Associate Degree. The Psychiatric Technology program is accredited by the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians.

WOMEN’S SELF-DEFENSE CLASS

This class is designed for women age 18+ wanting to learn self-defense and safe firearm handling practices. This will be a safe and fun learning environment. Some of the topics covered in the class will include a presentation regarding situational awareness, potential weapon options, self-defense techniques, and live fi****ms training at the range.

Requirement: Comfortable clothing and a great attitude!
