We believe Black History should be celebrated all year long...and now that we are in Women's History Month we offer you this...

OUTSTANDING BLACK FEMALE ACHIEVEMENT IN AMERICA

Black History is full of phenomenal achievements by Black Women. Barbara Hillary and Jane Bolin were two phenomenal ladies worthy of mention.

DID YOU KNOW?

• Barbara Hillary became the first African American Woman, on record, to go to both the North and the South Poles in her 70s. At the age of 75, Barbara Hillary reached the North Pole! Ms. Hillary considered herself an, "Older Athlete", and was proud to say that she had, "achieved standing on the top of the world". She then went on to raise the funds to do it again at the South Pole, four years later, at the age of 79!

• Jane Bolin was the first Black Woman to graduate from Yale Law School and went on to become the first Black Female Judge! Ms. Bolin made headlines when she was sworn in as the First Black Female Family Court Judge in 1939. Throughout her career, Ms. Bolin served on the New York Family Court for over 40 years! Early in her career, Judge Bolin rarely wore her robe to not intimidate children and she was a firm believer in putting the needs of children over the monetary wants of feuding adults.
