When I got accepted to CSUSB in March of 2020, I didn’t understand how much this campus would make a huge impact in my life, nor was I unaware of how much I would eventually make my mark at this school. I was simply just trying to go on the college adventure I never got being that I stayed home in the Bay Area after I graduated from high school in 2013. Then, when I got here, I knew I had to make the best of my time.
When I first moved into the dorms in August 2020 feels like it was AGES ago. When I first started as a TPM in February 2021 seems like it was eons ago, however, it was merely just a year ago. The reality is, time goes by so quickly. I never imagined that this day would come; that day being commencement. When you start, everything seems so distant. There’s no possible way that with a snap of our fingers two years could go by so quickly. The past two weeks have been so bittersweet reflecting on all that I’ve experienced the past two years. As much as I want to cling onto these moments and stay frozen in these memories forever, it is now time to end one chapter and start another.
Before I start this new chapter, perhaps even the newest book of my life and start meeting new characters and creating new memories, I’d like to invite you to get a deeper view of what my life has been during my time here as a student and transfer peer mentor at CSUSB. I hope whoever reads this is inspired to put yourself out there! Good luck transfer 'yotes! Y'all got this.
Signing off,
TPM Mia

To my favorite Transfers,
When I became a Transfer Peer Mentor, I knew I could not do it forever. I knew that one day, my time serving our special community would come to a close and it is with bittersweet emotions that I inform you that today is indeed that day. It is because by tomorrow evening, I will officially be walking across the stage to become part of CSUSB's alumni and moving onwards to the next chapter of my life, whatever it may hold for me. Before that though, I'd like to thank you all for allowing me to serve you and learn from you the best that I could. I am beyond proud of all of the accomplishments and strides we have made together at our university to strengthen this incredibly special community. I would also like to extend my fondest gratitude to my family, friends, and professors at Chaffey and CSUSB. Without them, none of this would be possible and I hope that I have made them proud. Before I go though, I’d like to share some reflections about my journey at this university and advice that I hope finds you well as you continue yours.
I sincerely wish you all the best and cannot wait to see you reap the rewards of all your hard work, perseverance, and determination to succeed when the time comes for your graduation day. It will be here... in a Flash.

P.S. Yes, that was a DC Universe reference. It would be wrong for me to not throw one in somewhere.
