To provide exemplary before and after school experiences for all SBCUSD students.

This winter break, Expanded Learning helped open the road to opportunity for our students.
Through our enrichment vendor partner, Baldy View Driving School, we provided no-cost driver’s education to students in our specialized programs.
Students learned the rules of the road and were transported directly to the DMV to earn their learner’s permits.
So far this school year, Expanded Learning has supported over 350 SBCUSD high school students with no-cost driver’s education.
Because access matters — and it opportunity drives futures forward.

Over 1,000 participants joined us at Cal State San Bernardino for a day packed with LEGO builds, STEAM challenges, and make-and-take fun.
We’re so proud of our young innovators and the amazing Expanded Learning teams who made it happen! 💡🧱

The San Bernardino City Unified School District Expanded Learning Program is home to a vibrant community of over 15,000 students. From transitional kindergarten to high school, our program caters to a diverse range of learners. Engaging in a variety of academic, recreational, and STEAM/enrichment activities, students in the E.X.L. program experience a holistic approach to education every day. Congratulations to Mt. Vernon Elementary School for receiving the Imagine Nation School of Excellence Award for use of Robotify in 2023-2024. Robotify is a virtual robotics platform that teaches students to code using Blockly and Python.
