On Saturday April 21st 27 San Benito NJROTC cadets answered the call to assist the San Benito City in painting of the veterans park in downtown San Benito. The city received a donation from Home Depot and we were honored to provide the volunteers to assist with this project. Also assisting were volunteers from Home Depot and local veterans. The San Benito NJROTC cadets have always stepped up to honor our community veterans.

COMMUNITY SERVICE REMIND FOR CADETS THAT SIGNED UP TO ASSIST WITH THE LOS FRESNOS RODEO. Below is the schedule:
Friday 16FEB18: right after school till 8:00.
Sat Morning Shift 17FEB18: 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Sat Afternoon Shift 17FEB18: 4 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Sun 18FEB18: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
The address is 500 E Ocean Blvd, Los Fresnos. Please make sure you check in with one of the instructors. You will be feed. PLEASE REMEMBER YOU NEED TO HAVE YOUR OWN RIDE. If you signed up please make every effort to be there on time. If you didn't sign up and would like to assist please come. Please wear jeans and comfrontable shoes.

The cadets did an outstanding job for the 2018 Annual Military Inspection. Even though the weather was not the best the cadets shined. They show cased all their hard work they have been putting in since October. Go Liberty Hounds

The orienteering and physcial fitness teams competed at Roy Miller High School at the yearly Buc-O-Rama. The cadets did an outstanding job respenting the NJROTC program, SBHS and San Benito. The teams overall took second place. In 7 physcial fitness events we took 1st place in 3 events and 2nd place in 4 events. The orienteering team power housed the event taking 1st and 2nd place. The orienteering and drill team members spent the night onboard the USS Lexington for and educational visit. The cadets learned the importance of the USS Lexington not only for US Navy History but also US hisotry. The completed a scavenger hunt, evening and morning colors and had dinner and breaksfast onboard the ship.

The orienteering and drill teams went on an educational visit to NAS Corpus Christi. We had lunch on base and the base Master At Arms (Navy Law Enforcement) show cased the Military Working Dogs (MWD). They learned and saw patrol and drug detection dogs in action. They were given a presentation on how the MWD are trained looking for drugs and also using blanks how the MWD acts if a police officer needs to use their firearm. The cadets were also given an oppurtinity to ask questions to the MWD handlers.
