Newly established Barracuda Bloom 4-H Club from Breeden Elementary School in Brownsville, Tx was recognized by the school board last night for their 4-H accomplishments, including their competition at the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show. 4-H youth showcased their plants in the Horticulture Contest. We are extremely proud of these students and adult leaders for their dedication to learning and growing! πŸ€πŸͺ΄

πŸŽ“ Today at the regular Brownsville ISD Board Meeting, the Board of Trustees and Superintendent Dr. Jesus H. Chavez proudly recognized students from Breeden Elementary who competed at the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show in Mercedes, Texas, earning placements across multiple plant categories.

Participants included Diego Garza, Allison Torres, Sophia Salazar, Aaron Jimenez, and Felicity Hesterberg. Happy start of March!

I’m excited to announce the β€œ4-H Programming AI Foundations coding virtual sessions” for youth in 6th – 12th grade in Texas. This FREE two-day class provided by Prairie View A&M University Extension will increase youth awareness and engagement in STEM education and learn how artificial intelligence can improve youth learning and work-ready skills. The two sessions will take place on Tuesday April 7th and Tuesday April 21st from 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM Central time virtually. No experience necessary. The deadline to register for the sessions will be Friday April 3rd at 4:00 PM. The only equipment needed will be a device and internet access. Since this is a virtual class please have adult supervision of your youth as they are a part of this program. Below is the registration link.
