Congratulations to all San Benito High School students who competed at the Region Jazz Auditions in Harlingen!

Special congratulations to our three Region Jazz Band members:

* Troy Rada, Senior: 1st Chair Trumpet
* Jose Limon Martinez, Senior: 4th Chair Trombone
* Elijah Rodriguez, Freshman: 2nd Chair Drumset

They will advance to the Area recording round later this month for a chance to earn All-State honors. Good luck, and Go Greyhounds! 💜💛🎶

MJMS Cougar Band Woodwind students were able to participate in masterclasses on the All-Region music and scales on Saturday, September 12th. They also participated in tone and technique workshops. Each student was able to interact with students from across the valley and within our school district.

Huge THANK YOU to Ms. Dulce Rodriguez, San Benito Director of Bands, and Mr. Rafael Garcia, SBHS Assistant Band Director, for organizing these wonderful events for our San Benito C.I.S.D. students!

Yesterday Miller Jordan Middle School held a special assembly to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. We were joined by the members of the San Benito Fire Department and Police Department.

The Cougar Band was given the honor to perform, “America, the Beautiful” during the assembly.

Two students were also chosen to perform “Taps” to commemorate all the victims and brave souls that were affected by 9/11.

The two 8th grade students were:

Ariana Zavala, trumpet
Joseph Gonzales, trumpet
