Somerset Academy Lone Star is a PK4-5 Tuition-Free Public School. With a Spanish bilingual language program. Students are encouraged to work hard and play hard.

Brooks Lone Star Academy currently serves Kindergarten through 5th grade. The campus focuses on Spanish Immersion and Dual Language. The school does offer an after school care program and a weekly Kind Yoga Book Club - Namaste!

Our Lions are taking an active role in morning announcements, building confidence, practicing responsibility, and showing citizenship and leadership. We love seeing our students step up, use their voices, and inspire their peers each morning!

We are so excited to welcome our grandparents, abuelitos y abuelitas to school for a very special lunch with their grandchildren! ❤️

🍽️ Join us during your grandchild’s regular lunch time.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Have multiple grandchildren? If they have different lunch times, you are welcome to join us during each child’s scheduled lunch period.

🕐 Please arrive 10 minutes before your grandchild’s lunch time. If you arrive late, we will not be able to pull students from class.

🎒 Grandparents, don’t forget to bring your own lunch! 😊

🏠 Grandparents may check out their grandchildren after lunch only if they are listed as an approved pick-up person in the student’s records.

Friday is JEANS Day

👖Students are permitted to wear non-ripped jeans with their uniform or spirit shirt for a $1 donation upon arrival at school in carline.

💲Please make sure your child has their $1 to give to Sra. Salas in their hand before getting out of the vehicle. Late arrivals will be collected in the front office with Sra. Kling.

For free, students may wear their spirit shirts with khaki uniform bottoms each Friday.

Los viernes son día de JEANS

👖 Se permite a los estudiantes usar jeans (no rotos) junto con su uniforme o su camiseta escolar ("spirit shirt") a cambio de una donación de $1 al llegar a la escuela.

We are proud to meet our students where they are and provide the support they need to grow academically, emotionally, and socially.

This achievement would not be possible without the dedication and hard work of our amazing teachers, staff, students, parents, grandparents, families, and community. This is OUR accomplishment! It’s time to celebrate, time to cheer, and time to keep working together because our Lions are capable of GREAT things! 🦁🎉

🦁 First Day of School — What a ROAR-some Start! | ¡Un Primer Día Increíble!

What a wonderful first day of school! 🦁💙 Our students had a great time arriving with their families. We know there were a few tears during goodbye, but those tears quickly turned into smiles once learning, playing, and making new friends began! 📚🎨😊

We also want to thank our families for your patience and cooperation as our staff, students, and families adjust to our carline procedures. Our first dismissal carline went smoothly, and we appreciate everyone helping us make it a success!

🚗 Important Carline Reminders:
- Please display your yellow carline tag on your dashboard, closer to the passenger side, where it is easy for staff to see.
- If you do not have a carline tag, please stop by the front office to pick one up. Without a carline tag, a valid ID will be required to dismiss your child.
- Please move forward all the way in the carline.
- Pay close attention to and follow staff signals.
- Do not exit your vehicle at any time during carline.
- If you need extra time to buckle your child, please pick up your child first and then drive to the buckle station.
- Please do not cut the line or block driveways.

Thank you for being such an important part of our Lion Family! 🦁💙 We can't wait to see you all at carline!

¡Qué maravilloso primer día de clases! 🦁💙 Nuestros estudiantes disfrutaron mucho llegar a la escuela con sus familias. Sabemos que hubo algunas lágrimas al momento de despedirse, pero esas lágrimas rápidamente se convirtieron en sonrisas cuando comenzaron a aprender, jugar y hacer nuevos amigos. 📚🎨😊

También queremos agradecer a nuestras familias por su paciencia y cooperación mientras nuestros estudiantes, familias y personal nos acostumbramos a los procedimientos de la fila de carros. ¡Nuestra primera salida en la fila de carros fue muy bien, y agradecemos que todos estén trabajando juntos para que sea un éxito!

Did your family miss the event? No worries! We can’t wait to welcome you on our FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL — Wednesday, August 12! 🎉

📚 First Day Reminders:
• Parents/guardians of students in ALL grade levels are welcome to walk their child to the classroom ONLY on the first day of school.
• Parents must enter through the Front Office and bring a valid ID.
• The Front Office will open at 7:00 AM.
• Carline opens at 7:00 AM for STUDENT ENTRANCE ONLY.
• All parents and students entering through the Front Office will report to the cafeteria.
• At 7:40 AM, homeroom teachers will pick up students and families may walk together to the classroom.
• All parents/guardians must exit the building by 8:00 AM.
