These brothers have been named Semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program, an outstanding recognition of their academic achievement and dedication.

🔬 Our kindergarten scientists are off to a great start! The boys have been learning what it means to think like scientists by exploring scientific tools, using their senses, and testing and sorting objects as they make observations and discoveries. It was a sweet glimpse of The Wildcat Way, where our boys’ natural curiosity is welcomed, encouraged, and guided with care. 🧪

Today, we'd like to introduce Jen Brooks, our new STEM Associate Teacher.ďż˝

🏫: Mrs. Brooks is The Academy's new Primary School STEM Associate Teacher. She has been with The Academy for four years as a Summer At The Academy camp counselor and W.E.L.L. instructor.��

🎓: She is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in child development at Texas A&M University–San Antonio and brings additional experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

💙: When asked what she looks forward to this year at SAA, she responded, “As I step into a new role at SAA, I’m looking forward to growing as an educator and creating fun experiences that make the boys excited to learn.”��

Mr. Rochon’s 6th grade science students strengthened their measurement skills this week as they used the metric system to study the physical properties of matter. The boys practiced with triple beam balances, measured liquid volume by reading the meniscus, and used powers of 10 to convert metric units.

These foundational skills build the confidence and precision students will need as they continue into chemistry and physics. It's The Wildcat Way: learning intentionally crafted for boys through active practice, clear purpose, and meaningful challenge.

The sorting helmet has spoken!

Ellison Hall was bursting with energy as students gathered for the annual Company Sorting Ceremony. This SAA tradition welcomes new students and our 3rd graders into the Wildcat Battalion by assigning each boy to one of six companies. This special event brings our boys together, builds camaraderie, and gives each student a meaningful place within the Academy community, all part of our Wildcat Way.

Mr. Rochon challenged his 5th-grade students with an intense round of Puzzle Wars, putting scientific thinking, strategy, and collaboration to the test. Working toward a shared goal, the boys navigated strict rules, managed real-world constraints, and raced against a time limit, all without being able to speak to one another.

They tested strategies, adapted under pressure, and relied on non-verbal communication to solve complex problems. The experience reflects The Wildcat Way, giving boys an active, purposeful challenge that strengthens critical thinking, adaptability, and teamwork.
